UCMAS is a child training program based on Visual Arithmetic and the Abacus that assists children ages 4–13 in developing their cognitive capacities. Along with enhancing students’ math skills, the UCMAS approach promotes whole brain development and the formation of fundamental building blocks like memory recall, mental focus, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills—all of which are necessary for increased high certainty in all areas of study and daily existence.

Given the technical nature of the program, it is vital that faculty members get training in methodology and classroom management skills in order to be well-prepared to teach UCMAS courses effectively. UCMAS Technique

This methodology uses the abacus, which helps children develop their brains while also giving them a unique method for doing fast calculations. All UCMAS students are welcome to take part in an energizing classroom group session.

UCMAS Activities

The two-hour classroom is divided into a variety of engaging activities that use flashcards, numbers, and listening exercises. These activities all contribute to the development of VAT Learning (Visual, Auditory, Tactile Learning), a mix of visual, auditory, and tactile learning. Students earn and accrue points for their participation and achievement, either collectively or individually, which generates a satisfying, dynamic, and challenging learning environment for students.

UCMAS Culture

The UCMAS motivates and inspires students to engage in and experience a variety of contests and assessments, which helps them develop a winning mentality, time management skills, the capacity to examine and evaluate outcomes, and the ability to uncover their unique qualities.

UCMAS New Zealand offers all of its students the chance to compete against thousands of other students and exhibit their abilities. Students must complete 200 questions in eight minutes, which demands lots of study and practice. The competition places a premium on consistency, perseverance, loyalty, and time management abilities.

UCMAS: Behavioural Principles
